Baby picture frames are very important items for any family who has children. Of course parents love to show off their little ones as much as possible and the right framing can make the difference between a good snapshot and a photographic masterpiece. The baby picture frames are constructed of wood. They are durable and they suit any décor. The sonogram image is protected by a special backing and a glass surface on the face of the image and the opening of the frame is the perfect size for a sonogram image. You don’t need to crop or enlarge the ultrasound print to accommodate these baby picture frames.

The only thing that was difficult about the task was deciding which words to choose for the item. There are a number of sentimental statements that are available for the baby picture frames. The little note of sentiment is the perfect touch for the keepsake. I will always cherish my baby’s very first photo.

Planning a Baby Shower II

My friend is pregnant with her first baby. We have always been close so I let her know that I would help her with any thing she needed help with in getting ready for the baby. There are many things to do in getting ready for a baby. We needed to prepare a room for the baby as well as purchase items that are needed when adding a baby into the home. I told my niece that I wanted to have a shower for her and her husband. I encouraged her to register at a number of local department stores for things that were needed for the baby.

Planning a baby shower takes some time. The major time factor was coordinating things with my niece. In planning a baby shower I wanted to make sure that I was including everyone that she wanted to invite. I was taking extra care in this because when my sister had a baby shower for a friend she had invited people that the mother to be did not want at the shower. This made for an uncomfortable time for everyone.

The other part of planning a baby shower that is difficult is deciding when the shower is to take place. My niece wanted to wait until after the baby arrived so that the people attending the shower could see the baby. This was fine, except that some of the items on her gift register were for things that are needed as soon as the baby arrives home. My niece mentioned that one of her co-workers was also planning a baby shower for her. I got the name of the co-worker so that we could coordinate the two baby showers to best fit with my niece’s wishes.

When I spoke with the co-worker planning a baby shower I found out that she was planning on having the shower the last day my niece was scheduled to work before the beginning of her maternity leave. I explained that I was planning to have a shower after the birth of the baby. We decided that we would tell the guests this so they could pick out their gifts accordingly. I would be including relatives and she would include co-workers, so people would not be invited to two showers.

When planning a baby shower you can get cards from the department stores where the mother has registered to place in the shower invitations. Having these cards to insert cuts down on the amount of information you need to write on the invitations.

Planning a baby shower should include as much input from the new parents as possible. Try to include the new dad also so he is not feeling left out of the process. The baby shower should concentrate on celebrating the new life of a child.

Adjusting to a new family member is often difficult for many of our family members. Introducing baby sounds little by little can help ease the transition for everyone involved.

Baby Shower Decorations

My pals and I planned a baby shower for one of my nieces. We decided to have it in the fellowship area of the local church because it was a large guest list. We had the shower on a Saturday afternoon. We did not want to get too elaborate with the baby shower decorations because we needed to have the entire area cleaned out immediately after the party. We did want to have a few baby shower decorations to give the room a festive feel. There is a bassinet that is passed to each new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first four to six weeks. This bassinet was my mother’s. We decided that we would use the bassinet as the center of our baby shower decorations. The fellowship area has large round tables that seat ten people. We moved one table off by itself to be the gift table. We covered this table with a soft pink table cloth; our niece knows she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the middle of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower decorations. I had purchased a pink and white baby blanket, which we draped over the side of the bassinet. We pinned several rattles and other baby toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then displayed the little outfits that my sister had bought. We finished the baby shower decorations for the gift table by placing a large stuffed bear into the bassinet. For the buffet table we had an arrangement of fresh flowers from the local florist. She used soft pink carnations, baby’s breathe and daisies for the arrangement. We decided that no other baby shower decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we set on this table, along with a cake that was decorated with a stork holding a small doll in a pink frosting blanket. We had also ordered a corsage for my niece and one for each of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very nice and we would not have to spend a great deal of timing cleaning up baby shower decorations because they would all be sent home as gifts to my niece. We had a great turn out for the shower. My niece received several very nice gifts. She was glad that we had the shower in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the pregnancy she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 minutes after the shower was over the fellowship area was cleaned and we were on our way home.

Baby Photos

Baby photos are a nice way to keep track of all the momentous steps they make in growth and development along the way. DIY Baby Room Decoration

I have always found baby room decoration to be one of the most pleasant and rewarding parts of parenthood. My wife and I have, together, picked out unique and different baby room decorations for our child, and this one is going to be the best one yet. We have always bought wonderful cribs, beds, toys, and other items of baby room decor with a discerning eye for quality and fun, but now for the first time, we are going to do up the whole room in a theme. We have decided to use fairies as our motif for the baby room decoration. Picking out all of the designs and items, from murals, to wallpaper, to a crib, has been so much fun that I was almost sad to have to see the baby room almost finished. But seeing my little daughter enjoying her baby room decoration will be a joy in and of itself.

Of course, the very first items of baby room decoration to consider are the wallpaper or paint, and the floor. This sets the tone for everything else, like in any other kind of house decorating. We thought that, since we were using fairy baby room decoration, we would make everything in evening blue and deep forest green. The wallpaper is printed to look like giant grasses and plants, with dandelions lazily releasing their pretty white seeds on the breeze. There are flowers that we have painted on there to add to the baby room decoration, and in many of the flowers, or hovering around them, are little fairies peaking out. There are fairy posters on the walls, and even fairies hanging from the ceiling on strings. The crib itself is covered with fairy baby room decoration in the form of green, twisting vines with flowers peaking out above. And, of course, no baby room decoration scheme would ever be at all complete without having a mural dangling above the crib for the little one to look at and play with. The ceiling itself is a deep, soothing blue with little stars peaking out of it. We have spared no expense or detail in making our baby room decoration just absolutely perfect.

Baby Bed

Baby Bed

When my parents were very young, and knew that I was on the way, they made all sorts of preparations to welcome me to this world.

My dad had been working on constructing a sailboat, when he found out that my mom was pregnant. He quickly abandoned his original plans and began working on a new project of more pressing need – he began building a cradle.

This baby bed was one of a kind and absolutely beautiful. My father took the time to make this cradle a very high end work of art. He carefully measured the distances from their own bed to build the cradle so that it was within easy arms reach for my mother, should I awake during the night a need a little rocking to soothe me back into a restful slumber. With a gently nudge the cradle would smoothly rock back and forth, with no creaking or scraping, due to my father’s careful planning and workmanship.

This baby bed was better than anything that could be bought in stores. My father included detailing and scrollwork that can only be the fruits of a labor of love.

Before long, I was born. Somehow my father knew that I would be a difficult child and this wonderful cradle was a saving grace during the long sleepless nights to follow. Even during the day, when my mother would be me down for a much needed nap, she would place me in my little baby bed. The gentle movement and calming motion was the only thing that had a chance of getting me to drift off to sleep for any length of time.

That cradle served it’s purpose during the early years for me and my two sisters to follow. Later on my father built some other pieces to match, however, today the only piece that remains is a toy chest with my name and birth date carefully carved into the surface. I use this box to this day as a box of mementos and pictures from my childhood. It’s so beautiful that it occupies a place of prominence in my living room for all to see and admire.

I often wonder what ever happened to my wonderful baby bed. As a parent with two small children of my own, I often wished that the cradle from my own childhood was available for us to use with our babies. That baby bed held the ability to comfort and calm any crying baby that was privileged to use it. The baby beds that we end up using today, lack the charm and quality that my special cradle offered. Nowadays, baby beds are mass produced using whatever materials are easily available, economical and hopefully, flame-retardant. They feature functionality, are usually designed to fit in with adult decor and often resemble miniature jail cells for our sweet babies. I’m sure that the baby beds of today have soaring safety features – one area that perhaps my little cradle lacked in some ways – but today’s baby beds also lack the charm and magical quality, that only a labor of love could capture and share with loved ones.

In today’s fast-paced world, life seems focused on what money can buy. People don’t usually have the time to even think about creating and building solutions for their friends and loved ones. And yet what a difference it can make, and what a lasting testament can be attained, when time and effort are put forth in creating lasting solutions. Anyone can buy an item off the shelf and present it as a gift – the value of making something with your hands is very special, especially when motivated by love. This sort of gift will be appreciated and cherished, and can create memories that last a lifetime.

Parenting And Family

Going in for parenting and family counseling was an admission of defeat, but at the same time it was a way to start on the road to a brighter future. Parents and teens occasionally fight, but since our twins hit their preteen years, everything has been a nightmare. We have always been a very traditional, faith-based family, so this has been a hard pill to swallow. I used to think that the key was to have strong ground rules and a firm hand, but this seems to only make things worse. My parenting and family troubles would increase every time I would shout at my daughters, ground them, or tell them that they had to do what I said because I am the father. I finally realized that it was time for outside help.

There are plenty of parenting and family experts out there, but the problem is that different people come from different perspectives. Family mental health is a very difficult and complex topic, and there are lots of different ways to look at it. Some people believe that authoritarian parenting is the answer, which is the perspective I was coming from. Other people believe that a family is a community, and that everyone should have a voice. This is especially true as your children start to grow up. Teenage rebellion is natural, and the important thing is to find a way to stop it from disturbing your parenting and family unity. The problem is, if you clamp down too much on your teenagers attempts to express themselves, they won’t be able to develop their own personalities and really become mature, functional adults.

If there is anything that the parenting and family therapy has taught me, it is that authoritative parenting isn’t the only way to go. Sure, being in control has its place, and most children need limits, but adults also need to grow up and understand that they have limits to. My therapist taught me that by bringing children into this world, I signed up to help them become full-grown adults. This doesn’t mean just setting limits, but also gradually relaxing them as my children become more mature and more capable of assuming the roles of adulthood. This is no easy task, but then again I should know what I was signing up for.

Since learning to relax control a bit, my parenting and family problems have really eased up. I am getting along better with my daughters, and me, my wife, and the two girls are all happier. The funny thing is, once you stop clamping down teenagers, they stopped rebelling. It seems that they just wanted a measure of respect and acknowledgment that they had certain freedoms.
